Creating a JW Player setting


This topic explains the setting fields that you need to fill out in order to use the JW Player integration.

To create a JW Player setting:

  1. Click menu> Admin > Sites & Settings > Sites > Global.
  2. Click search, and type JW Player.
  3. Under Settings, click add_circle_outline, then click Create New in the selection menu to create a new setting.
  4. Using the table below as a reference, complete the fields as necessary.

  5. Click Save.
Field Description
Internal Name Enter a name for this setting. Brightspot uses this name in widgets such as the search panel.
Base URL Retain the default. This is the URL endpoint used to ensure a successful import from JW Player.
Client Secret Enter a secret. This secret must be from v2 API Credentials and is obtained from the JW Player Dashboard.
Site ID Enter a site ID. This ID is referred to as Property ID on the JW Player Dashboard.
Player ID Enter a Player ID. You must have at least one player configured on the JW Player Dashboard to preview federated search results. Use the player ID for a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Import cluster
Ingestion Run Record This field is pre-populated according to the values entered into the fields above. Click visibility to view information like the date an import was run, or the date when the last asset was updated.
Import Enabled Toggle on to enable the import task, which automatically imports videos from JW Player.
Full Import Enabled Toggle on to cause the import task to ingest all videos, not just those modified since the last import.
Import User Enter a user to associate with the ingestion process. Click search to search for an existing user. When videos are imported from JW Player, a user must be associated with them as the publish user and update user.
Miscellaneous cluster
Debug Enabled Toggle on to increase the logging level. Intended for developers, this field logs additional information in addition to errors for the sake of debugging, like Videos successfully retrieved.
