Stop managing content. Start orchestrating it.

Esca Automations is Brightspot’s agentic workflow automation engine that takes the repetitive tasks off your team’s plate.

Build your workflows, decide where humans need to sign off and let it run.
What is Esca Automations?
Esca Automations is a standalone tool that helps you manage content operations at scale. You can customize it to run repetitive tasks automatically, connect to the systems your team already uses, use agentic AI to create, enrich or update content, and route content to the right place based on your workflow. Every action follows the same rules and roles you’ve already set up in the CMS.

It is no-code by default, so you get value on day one without using up developer time. And because you can require human approval at key steps, you can let Esca handle the repetitive execution while your people stay focused on strategy and oversight.

No code from day one
Build automations through a visual builder. No developer hours required. Anyone with the right permissions can configure, adjust and oversee workflows. When you need something more specific, a developer can extend Esca Automations with new node and connection types.

How does Esca Automations work?

Esca Automations is a standalone service, separate from your CMS. Every automation is built from three parts:

Esca Automations: Triggers

Triggers start the automation. Choose a general trigger — run it manually, on a schedule or automatically when another system sends a signal (a “webhook”). A trigger can be tied to something happening in your CMS, such as an article draft being saved, or a weekly analytics update.

Esca Automations: Conditions

Conditions decide what happens next, so content is handled differently based on type, status, section or your own rules.

Esca Automations: Actions

Actions do the work, from optimizing SEO and applying tags to running an accessibility review, sending notifications or routing to the next desk.

  • What excites me about Brightspot and Esca Automations is the ability to connect content, systems and workflows in a way that is intelligent, governed and scalable. In a complex university environment, automating repetitive processes while maintaining standards, consistency and human oversight has the potential to significantly improve how teams work and how experiences are delivered.

Connections are effectively limitless and entirely shaped by your tech stack. Common integrations include Slack, Jira or GitHub alongside your Brightspot environments. Esca becomes the orchestration layer that ties your stack together, giving you the flexibility to adapt as your needs change.

The Esca dashboard summarizes active automations, how many have been triggered and metrics on execution time and success rate, so admins can monitor performance and prove value.
