Adding an anchor to a topic

Brightspot allows you to add anchors to a topic. Anchors allow you to break your topics into smaller sections that can be linked to from other assets.

Brightspot preprends anchors with a #, both within the topic itself and also in the table of contents of the book after the topic is published.

Disabling anchors in a topic

You may find it useful to use H2 formatting without creating anchors within your topics. Brightspot gives you the option to disable anchoring while retaining H2 formatting.

To disable anchors in a topic:

  1. Search for and open a topic to which you would like to disable anchors.
  2. Toggle on Advanced > Disable Subheading Anchors. By default, this is toggled off (which enables the anchors).
