Adding hyperlinks to text


Adding hyperlinks to body text increases engagement by encouraging visitors to view additional assets on your site.

To add a hyperlink:

  1. In the rich-text editor, type and highlight the text that you want to link.
  2. Click link.
  3. Under Link, do one of the following:
    • Select Internal, and select one of your published assets in Brightspot.

    • Select External, and paste the target URL.
  4. You have the option of adding some advanced settings to your link. To learn more about these settings, see "Using the Advanced tab," below
  5. Click Save & Close.

Using the Advanced tab

When setting up an internal or external link, you have the option to set how the link will behave.

External—Advanced tab

  • Target—Specify whether the link's target should open in New Window/Tab or Same Window/Tab.
Internal—Advanced tab
  • Target—Specify whether the link's target should open in New Window/Tab or Same Window/Tab.
  • Anchor—If the asset you are linking to has anchors present, such as a page with tabs, you can select items within the tabs to which to anchor. Then when your visitors click the link, they are taken directly to that content.
