Configuring integrated searches with YouTube

You can perform integrated searches for videos in your YouTube account. If you have multiple YouTube channels and Brightspot sites, you can restrict an individual Brightspot site’s integrated search to a specific Video channel.

To configure integrated searches with YouTube:

  1. Obtain your YouTube account’s API key. You can obtain the key from the APIs & Services page on your Google account.
  2. Click menu > Admin > Sites & Settings
  3. In the Sites widget, click the site for which you want to configure YouTube searches. The Edit Global or Edit Site widget appears.
  4. Click search, and search for YouTube.
  5. From the YouTube API Client list, select Create New. A content edit form appears.
  6. In the Name field, enter a name for this client.
  7. In the API Key field, paste the API key from step 1.
  8. (Optional) If you want to restrict federated search to a specific YouTube channel, in the Channel ID enter the channel’s ID.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Click Back. You return to the Edit Global widget.
  11. From the YouTube API Client list, select the client you just created.
  12. Click Save.
