Lee has been working for Brightspot since December 2012.

This week, Rose went on the record with Lee Teague, a chief architect for Brightspot, formerly Perfect Sense. Lee is currently leading the way on Brightspot's work with Politico. In their conversation, Rose and Lee discussed what led him to pursue a career in software engineering and the best lunch spots at the Reston Town Center.

How long have you been working for Brightspot?
I've been here for 2 years and 4 months.

Where did you work prior to Brightspot?
I worked at a few companies in Dallas - Southwest Airlines, Verizon Wireless, a small financial start up, and even ran my own business.

What inspired you to be come a software developer?
I have always been interested in the way things work, taking them apart and putting them back together. I enjoy being creative and I like building things, so a career in software seemed to be a good path for those interests.

What is your favorite part about working for Brightspot?
I like the people and enjoy working on interesting projects.

What was your latest project?
My current project is Politico. I’m the lead architect on the Politico team, which means I’m working with the developers and product and project managers to make sure that we are building our client’s site the right way. I also meet with the client regularly to make sure not only that they understand the architecture of Brightspot, but also that we understand the exact technical requirements we need to meet to make our launch a success.

Where is your favorite place to eat lunch at the Reston Town Center?
Good question! I think I'd have to go with Busara Thai Restaurant.

What piece of advice would you give a recent graduate starting a career in software engineering?
It is okay to ask questions and to be slow and careful with your work.

What was the last concert you attended?
They Might Be Giants in Dallas

If you could have any super power, which would you like to have?
Hmm, this is tough. I think I would go for super speed.

If a movie was produced about your life, who would play you, and why?
Oh man, I don't know! That movie wouldn't have much of an audience so I don't think a studio could get anyone famous to play me.
