Creating API credentials in Brightcove


This topic explains how to create API credentials in Brightcove. You add those credentials to Brightspot, after which editors can browse for videos in your Brightcove account.

Tip
The configuration in this topic is often done in parallel with the associated configuration in Brightspot. Consider performing this procedure along with the one described in Configuring the Brightcove integration.


To configure a Brightcove API:

  1. Log in to your Brightcove account.
  2. Click ⚙ > API Authentication.
  3. Click Add application.
  4. Enter the Name of the API and a short Description.
  5. Select the Brightcove accounts you want to be available through this authentication.
  6. Mark the following services:

    • CMS > Playlist Read
    • CMS > Video Read 
    • Players > Read
  7. Click Save.
  8. In the Copy Your Client Secret widget, copy/paste the Client ID and Client Secret into a text file. (In the procedure Configuring the Brightcove integration you paste the client ID and secret into the Brightcove configuration in Brightspot.)
  9. Click Okay, I copied it.
  10. Click ⚙ > Account Information.
  11. Copy the Account ID into the same text file.
