Retrieving your Shopify access token, API secret key, and store URL


In order to configure a Shopify integration with Brightspot, you must first retrieve your Shopify access token, API secret key, and store URL from your Shopify account.

To retrieve necessary items from Shopify:

  1. From Shopify's set up guide page, from the left rail, click chevron_right to the right of Apps.

  2. Click App and sales channel settings.
  3. Click Develop apps for your store.

  4. Click Allow Custom App Development.
  5. Click Allow Custom App Development again.
  6. Click Create an App, and enter a name for the app.
  7. Click Configure Admin API scopes.

  8. Check the write_products and read_products scopes.
  9. Click Save.
  10. From the App development page, click the API credentials tab.

  11. Click Install App. Shopify reveals its access token and API secret key. You can also note the store URL in the widget on the left of the API credentials tab.

Caution
Be sure to save these items, as Shopify only reveals the access token once, and the API secret key is needed in Brightspot to ensure automatic updates.
