Preparing a video for publication
You can use the following features to prepare a video for publication:
- Adjust the video’s colors for brightness, contrast, and other characteristics
- Add image overlays to the video
- Clip the video
All of these features are available in the video editing form, seen below.

Preparing a video for publication
The following sections describe each step in detail.
You can apply color correction to a video.
To adjust a video's colors:
- Create a new video as described in Submitting a video to AWS Elemental.
- Above the video's preview, click Edit.Edit video link
- On the video editing form, under Color, adjust the sliders to achieve the desired color correction.Edit video's color settings
- Click Done.
You can add images to a video that fade in and out during video playback.
To add an image overlay to a video:
- Create a new video as described in Submitting a video to AWS Elemental.
- Above the video's preview, click Edit.
- On the video edit form, under Overlay, under Overlays, click .
Do one of the following:
- Click One-Off Overlay to add a one-off overlay.
- Click Shared to add a shared overlay.
- Fill out the remaining fields in the form, specifying position, entry/exit, duration, and other features. As you enter values in the form, Brightspot provides a preview of the overlay.Edit the video overlay
- Repeat steps 3–5 to add additional overlays. Brightspot displays the overlays in the order you add them.
- Click Done.
You can retain only those segments of a video that are of interest to your visitors.
To clip a video:
- Create a new video as described in Submitting a video to AWS Elemental.
- Above the video's preview, click Edit.
Under Clip, do the following:
- On the filmstrip, click at the starting point for the clip.
- Click at the ending point for the clip.
- With your mouse, adjust the starting and ending points as necessary.
- Repeat steps a–c to add additional clips.
As you add clips, Brightspot adds the corresponding time codes to the video editing form.
Clipping a video- Click Done.
When you publish the video, visitors see only the clipped portions of the original video.
