Video playlist module


A video playlist module contains a list of videos pertaining to a similar topic.

Tip
Before beginning these steps, make sure you upload the playlist's videos to Brightspot. For details, see Video.


To create a video playlist module:

  1. In the header, click add.
  2. From the Create list, select  Video Playlist Module.
  3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the video playlist module.

Field Description
Internal Name Enter an internal name for this asset. Brightspot uses this name internally, such as in the search panel and recent activity widget. This name is not visible to visitors to your site.
Title Enter a title. This title is visible to the visitors to your site.
Description Enter a description. This description is visible to the visitors to your site.
Items Create one of the following lists:
  • Basic—Creates a list of videos that does not change.For more information, see Creating a basic list.
  • Advanced—Creates a list of videos that does not change. Each video can have additional features, such as companion content, call to action, and a thumbnail image. For more information, see Creating an advanced list.
  • Dynamic—Creates a list of videos that changes over time based on selection criteria you configure. For more information, see Creating a dynamic list.
Call To Action Select None, Internal or External.



  • None—No Call to Action button is displayed.
  • Internal—A Call to Action button is displayed. In the Item field, select the asset that visitors view when clicking on the button.
  • External—A Call to Action button is displayed. In the URL field, enter the URL of an external asset that visitors view when clicking on the button.

When setting up an internal or external call to action, you have the option to set how the link will behave.





External—Advanced tab



  • Target—Specify whether the target of the Call to Action should open in New Window/Tab or Same Window/Tab.
  • Attribute—Click add_circle_outline to add an attribute to the link.



    • Name—Enter the name of the attribute. For example, Title.
    • Value—Set the value for the attribute. For example, Brightspot Home Page. This appends Title="Brightspot Home Page" to the URL of the external link specified in the Call to Action.
Internal—Advanced tab



  • Target—Specify whether the target of the Call to Action should open in New Window/Tab or Same Window/Tab.
  • Attribute—Click add_circle_outline to add an attribute to the link.



    • Name—Enter the name of the attribute. For example, Title.
    • Value—Set the value for the attribute. For example, Brightspot Home Page. This appends Title="Brightspot Home Page" to the URL of the external link specified in the Call to Action.
  • Anchor—If the asset you are linking to has anchors present, such as a page with tabs, you can select items within the tabs to which to anchor. Then when your visitors click the Read More button, they are taken directly to that content.
