Brightspot Content Types Guide

Tabs available to modules

The Main tab on each content edit page is used to build a module, like a list, a promo, or a container; however, there is also a varying set of tabs available to you to perform additional actions, like overriding fields when the module appears somewhere else, changing its presentation, and much more. This topic can be referenced in conjunction with those found in Modules to better explain what options you have when building modules in Brightspot.

Disable Dynamic De-DuplicationToggle on to allow duplicate promos to appear on the page. Leaving this setting toggled off prevents duplicate promos from appearing on the same page.
LocalesSelect All Locales, Current Locale, or Some Locales to determine the locale in which the dynamic page promo is displayed. This serves as an exclusion filter to prevent items in different locales from populating the dynamic module in cases where it is not intended for them to do so.

For details, see JSON-LD.org.

Raw HTML

Main tab

The Main tab contains required and optional fields that editors may fill out to create a content type. Each content type's Main tab is described in its respective topic.

See Modules for more information.

Overrides tab

The Overrides tab allows editors to override settings that are automatically configured on an module's content edit page. Overrides also exist to give editors a way to change change the front end layout of the asset, how an asset is presented when being shared via URL, and more. Each override refers to overriding a setting that was inherited from somewhere else, usually from a higher level in the content hierarchy (for details, see Content hierarchy); however, in some cases, overrides overwrite values you enter into fields on the Main tab (for example, Promo Overrides, which default to the values you set for Title and Description, as well as others). Using the following tables as a reference, complete the fields as needed.

General

FieldDescription
AnchorModify the anchor to something that would make sense when appearing in an Anchor field's drop-down menu on another asset. This allows you to find this quote easily and directly link to it using the Anchor field in another asset. For instance, changing the default anchor to the name of the person attributed to the quote and adding the word "quote," would make it easy to identify in a list.

Iframe overrides

FieldDescription
Iframe NameEnter a name for the Iframe module to be displayed to readers.
SandboxControls the attribute on the output <iframe>.

For details, see Mozilla's documentation.

Page Promo overrides

FieldDescription
CategoryEnter text to override what appears as the eyebrow text when this promo appears on a page.
