Configuring affinities

The following sections describe how to configure affinities at the site and item levels.


Configuring affinities at the site level

To configure affinities at the site level:

  1. Click menu > Admin > Sites & Settings.
  2. In the Sites widget, select the site for which you want to configure affinities, or select Global to configure affinities for all sites.
  3. Under Front-End, expand Action Bar.
  4. To create a default action bar for all content types:

    1. From Default Action Bar, select Set.
    2. Click add_circle_outline, and select an affinity. Repeat to select additional affinities.
  5. In the Tracking Parameter Name field, enter a tracking parameter such as medium. When a visitor shares an item, Brightspot assigns a value to the tracking parameter inside the shared URL.
  6. To create a type-specific action bar:

    1. Under Type Specific Overrides, click add_circle_outline. A form appears.
    2. Click Types, and select one or more content types.
    3. Under Action Bar, under Items, click add_circle_outline, and select an affinity. Repeat to select additional affinities.
    4. Repeat steps a–c to create additional type-specific action bars.
  7. Click Save.

Disabling affinities at the item level

You can disable affinities for individual items.

To disable affinities at the item level:

  1. Search for and open the item on the content edit page.
  2. Click more_horiz > Overrides > Feature Overrides.
  3. From the Disabled Features list, select the affinities you want to disable.
  4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the item.
