Brightspot CMS User Guide

Adding subscription plans

Subscription plans allow you to set up pricing plans for content that you have behind a paywall. Visitors then must purchase a subscription plan to view this content. You may also want to have differing tiers of subscription levels that provide more access to those visitors who purchase a higher subscription level. By setting up subscription plans in Brightspot, you can achieve this.

To add a subscription plan:

  1. Click menu > Admin > Sites & Settings.
  2. Click the name of the site to which you want to add the subscription plan.
  3. Click Front End > Access.
  4. Under Subscription Plans, click  to add a new subscription plan.
  5. Using the following table as a reference, enter values for the subscription plan.

Setting the content access for a subscription

As you set up a subscription plan, you must specify what content or content types are available to your subscribers. There are two types of access you can set up: Individual Content Access or Tagged Content Access.

  • Individual Content Access—This option requires that you select specific assets that have been previously created within Brightspot to be available to subscribers of this subscription plan.
  • Tagged Content Access—This option requires that you select from a variety of filters to determine which content is available to subscribers of this subscription plan.

To set Individual Content Access:

  1. Click the Accesses field and select Individual Content Access.
  2. Under Content, click add_circle_outline to open the content picker to select the assets that you want to put behind the paywall for this subscription plan.
  3. Select the individual assets that require this subscription plan in order to view.
